Department Overview: The department of computer science was established in the year 1990. The department is enriched with the needed and adequate infrastructure to support proper shaping of the students as professionals. The department is providing qualitative learning environment to the students’ community enabling them to buildup willingness to learn and work.

Aims: The aims of the computer science department are to prepare students for graduate training in some specialized area of computer science, to prepare students for jobs in industry, business, or government, and to provide support courses for students in engineering, mathematics and other fields requiring computer skills.

Objectives: Upon successful completion of a major in computer and information science, students will be able to:

Ø Demonstrate proficiency in problem-solving techniques using the computer.

Ø Demonstrate proficiency in atleast two high level programming languages and two operating systems.

Ø Demonstrate proficiency in the analysis of complex problems and the synthesis of solutions to those problems.

Ø Demonstrate comprehension of modern software engineering principles.

Ø Demonstrate a breadth and depth of knowledge in the discipline of computer science.
